Just the right size for the Sony BDP-S350 December 30, 2008 Robert Alleger (New Jersey) Very clever of Sony making USB thumb drives that were exactly the right physical size to fit their BCP-S350 blueray player. I tried other flash drives but they were all too large in width to fit this overly narrow (on purpose I'm sure) slot. So all I can say is that this is perfect, though pricey, for that purpose. Works absolutely fine.
very tiny and THIN November 19, 2008 Fishie Water (California, USA) I bought this because I needed a flash drive for school and this looked super portable and holds a lot more than my old one. I haven't had any problems with it on my desktop. I don't know about the speed because I don't transfer huge files, mostly homework assignments and such. My only complaint is that it is SO SO THIN, my laptop (mac) will not read it because it doesn't touch the contacts. If you really want it still and you use a laptop, I solved this the ghetto way and taped some masking tape onto just the back part of the flash drive to make it thicker, and now it reads! Huzzah. I hope it doesn't melt or something. I think it's sloppy on Sony's part to not consider that though, so I knocked it down a few stars. I would suggest this only if you don't use a laptop and you just want something tiny and portable to save small files.
Purchased for Sony Blu-Ray BDP-S350 October 9, 2008 Gary H. Padera (Mt Prospect , IL) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Purchased for Sony Blu-Ray BDP-S350. This Flash drive did not work with the Sony Blu-Ray player. The Sony blu-Ray DVD player did not recognize the Sony USB flash drive. I called Sony and they were not at all helpfull so I returned the USB flash drive. The flash drive did work in my HP desktop computer but I did not buy it for that reason.
Big Value in a tiny package September 12, 2008 P. Buehler (Indiana) I bought mine over six months ago. I use it nearly everyday at my job as a Systems Administrator to sneakernet files from one computer to another. I keep about 500 mb of music on it so I always have tunes that I want to hear when I have the chance wherever I am. That still leaves plenty of room to transport other files. I even used it in a rental car that had a USB port for the sound system when I was on travel. I keep it in my little fifth pocket in my Levi blue jeans, and that means that I have forgotten about it a few times. It has gone through the washer and dryer three times (that I know of) with no data loss and it keeps on working just as well as the day I bought it. I will be sad on the day when I loose it (my only fear for this flash drive). I am never without this little guy. The rubber holder is still with it as well. Though I lost the clip about a month ago, I never used it anyway. 5 Stars!! Maybe someday I'll upgrade to 8 gig version. Don't need it yet.
A great drive June 11, 2008 C. Madruga (Boulder, CO) This is a great drive. I bought it when I noticed that Best Buy had mismarked its price and was selling it for around $5. I've had it for about a year during which it has accidentally gone through the washer and dryer once and been run over by a bike tire (I'm an active person.) The good news is: the drive still works! The read and write speed aren't something to write home about but the drive is fairly fast. I mostly use it to transfer installer files and 600-700MB ISOs. The write times are considerably faster than when I use my Kingston and I can burn from an ISO on the drive without noticing much of a speed difference. I've been very happy with this drive and have bought the 4GB version since I need more space.
