Perfect for my receipts September 17, 2008 Tracy A. Graff (Avondale, CO USA) I ordered the Docketport solely for scanning all my receipts. Received it fast and installed the software first and perform the mandatory calibration, per the instructions. It was so nice to plug the Docketport into my monitor and scan my first receipt so quickly. It went in easily and looked great on the screen. I really love the fact the PDF files were small, as opposed to my Lexmark all-in-one, which I use to scan everything else, but creates larger PDF files. It does take a few tries on longer receipts to keep it straight, but once that's perfected, it scans wonderfully. The Docketport does a little 'pre-grab' to hold the receipt while you press the Scan button on the screen. The software allows you to scan in B/W, greyscale, and color. Can even scan photos. Scans different lengths: min - Business card (3.5" x 2.2") to max - Legal (8.5" x 14"). Also, shows a screen that you can customize to fit your item, like my receipts, by moving the height and width manually. Comes with a nice case that holds the scanner and even managed to put the USB cable that comes with it, in there also. The only drawback I see is that it only scans to a length of legal sized documents. This means I just scan my Circuit City receipts twice - first, the beginning fo the receipt, then the end of the receipt, which creates a two page file. Oh well, I'm not gonna downstar it because the images are great and it's doing exactly what I wanted.
Excellent small scanner August 3, 2008 Daniel (California) I got this scanner to have a small footprint for my portable office. It really does what is says. Easy archiving of all documents no larger than legal.
Great Convenient Product For Travelers! June 22, 2008 C. Graves (Naples, FL) I travel 2 months a year in my Motor Coach and I need to stay in touch with my Clients and Office. This small scanner works wonderful, takes up little to no space and offers great quality. I have never scanned photos, but for simple black and white projects it was the perfect answer for me.
An excellent product! May 6, 2008 magicker71 (Louisville, KY) Purchased and have been using this scanner for about a month. What a great tool this has been to get all of my various paperwork into order. For the couple of reviews that complain about this scanner, this is for scanning paperwork, not photos of Grandma. The feeder works well, it occasionally slips but not often. Scans are very crisp. The scanner itself is very small and doesn't need a power cord which is awesome. The enclosed software is remarkably good: it's small, easy to use, and does the one job you want it to (make scans) and doesn't try and be some grand organizer for everything. Best of all the software automatically creates everything in PDF format. Highly recommended.
