The product description is somewhat confusing, but this Targus Wired Laser Pack Notebook Bundle is a handy kit for notebook PC users that includes the following items:
- USB numeric keypad with two USB 1.1 ports
- Mini laser mouse with retractable cable
- USB compact hub with four USB 2.0 ports
- Two AC line filters to provide basic surge protection
This particular USB numeric keypad has comfortable low-profile keys that are perfect for those who frequently need to work with spreadsheets or financial applications, the "number cruncher" among us. Plus it doubles up as a handy 2-port USB hub. Note: as one reader pointed out, the USB ports on the keypad are of the 1.1 variety, and good for devices like a USB mouse, etc.
The optical laser mouse has a nice feel, and stows away easily due to it's handy retractable USB cable. The mouse movements feel quite precise.
The compact USB hub has four 2.0 ports. This may seem a bit of overkill considering that the numeric keypad has two ports, but for those of us with digital cameras and USB memory devices, it's exceptionally handy.
Probably the most overlooked devices are the two mobile surge protectors that are included with this kit. One is designed for 2-wire power cords, and the other is made for 3-wire (grounded) power cords. These are small and lightweight, and eliminate the need for carrying full-size surge suppressors with your notebook computer.
No matter how you look at it, this bundle provides all of the right accessories for many of us with notebook and laptop computers.
