The Koss SB-45 Communication Stereophones are sold for a very modest price. The lightweight comfort matched by its "sturdy-enough-build" make these stereophones surprisingly delightful. Not to mention the sound is beyond clear for the price range, and the bass mysteriously clever.

 Broken microphone, right out of the box - twice November 6, 2008

Everything fine with these, comfort, sound is adequate, but we've had two sets with broken microphones. Tried on several machines (mac), all same.
The first unit failed after a couple of days of use, the second one had an inoperative mic right out of the box. Returning for a refund this time, not willing to waste any more time.

I purchased this headset to replace the cheap ones that came with my the Dictation software I purchased. I have to say that the bass sounded pretty good and the noise canceling works very well. everything comes in crisp and clear. It is true that they are kind of heavy, but you can take them off periodically if it's a problem. Combined with a lifetime limited warranty. This headset can be beaten for the price.
I give it five out of five.

I have had my Koss SB-45's now for about a month. I use them for college online classes. These are very comfortable, the over the head bar is well cushioned, the over the ear style blocks out a lot of the background noise. NOT all of it, mind you but, they are not noise canceling headphones. The boom mic swings out of the way when not needed and works well. For what I used them for the sound quality is excellent. Two thumbs up in my book. I also bought the inline volume control and the cushioned carrying case, both work as stated and made mice additions to my set up.
