4 out of 5 stars Great sound, no Vista support   May 2, 2008

As everyone notes, very good sound quality. However, there is no support for Windows Vista (or, apparently, more recent versions of Mac OS/X).

4 out of 5 stars Good product. Could use some improvment   October 28, 2007

The Mvox is a very reasonably priced usb speakerphone that works well. I'm on Mac an it works out of the box with no software.

Having an audio out for external speakers is pretty much essential, because if your doing serious conference calls in a wider area you need more volume than the internal speaker can offer. Thankfully they did put a jack in, but they really messed up in not using the standard 2.5mm (1/8") jack that nearly all headphones and speakers use. They instead used the slightly smaller 3/32 jack which fits almost nothing thus forcing you to get an adapter (which can be had from your local radio shack) If it were not for this I probably would have given it five stars.

I am always working to make a decent room conference system since the polycoms are way overpriced and not that great. I modified this using by opening it up and adding a jack allowing me to hook up an external mic. This is a jack that it should come with as it would really set this unit apart and only add a few cents to manufacturing costs.

So far my tests are coming out good. Though more basic this is better that the VR Fidelity unit as the echo suppression works on the audio output as well. It's also easier to mod of you want it for that purpose.

If you don't care about all the other stuff I mentioned and just want a simple unit than this should work well for you also

This is an outdamnstanding microphone...very clear and very easy to setup. YOU SHOULD purchase one.

5 out of 5 stars Sound quality, ease of use, size, all great   June 28, 2007

I'm using this with Yahoo Messenger for voice and it works great both as a speakerphone and with a Panasonic headset I bought. Sound quality both sending and receiving are great. We use it for a daily 'standup' meeting and will have 4 people in my office speaking in turn, some standing 10 feet away. The folks on the other end report they can hear everyone better than when we use the low-end polycom speakerphone we have in the conference room.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Device, wide compatibility   May 22, 2007

I picked one of these up at a fire sale at Radio Shack for a mere five bucks.. wish I got a couple more. When either my wife or I travel alone, the one at home uses the Mvox and the other uses the internal mic/spkr in a laptop. We do Yahoo voice chat and just leave them on while hanging out at the hotel, it's almost like we are in the same room.

As for the product, excellent noice-cancellation and audio quality, thanks to the 2 microphones that get compared to each other by the microprocessor. I guess if this one works so well, the bluetooth version can't be bad either!
