bad scrolling December 21, 2008 C. Brown (Atlanta) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Although this mouse has great response, the scroll feature is ridiculously inept. I installed the software, as instructed, but it is of little value. When scrolling, the scroll wheel has little clicks that you can feel. Each click runs the mouse down WAY too many lines. On most pages one click takes you almost to the end of the page. There is no setting anywhere in the software to change this. If you like manually dragging the slider down to move down a page in smaller increments, then fine. Otherwise don't bother with this mouse. I wish I hadn't bought it, and since it completed a $25 free shipping order, I won't hassle with the return. I'll just end up putting it in a drawer for emergencies and will replace it next week with a better one. You get what you pay for.
Good wired mouse November 17, 2008 RSRCHB4UBY (CA USA) I bought this mouse to replace an IBM optical mouse I used with an older Dell desktop. This Microsoft mouse is built well, comfortable to use and performs well. I went for a Microsoft mouse because I already own two of them (white color though) and I have never had any problems with them, unlike GE or IBM mice I owned.
A very good mouse. October 10, 2008 G. Strakos This is a computer mouse that gets the job done. It works with Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows XP. It fits my hand very nicely. This mouse is well made and reasonably priced. What else needs to be said?
Simple, Comfortable, Reliable... October 1, 2008 Dale Johnson If you need a simple, comfortable and reliable mouse, this is it. I have three at home and one at work. I have never had a single problem with any of them. The mouse has a good tactile feel and fits an average sized adult hand perfectly. I don't normally rate things with five stars but I can not honestly find a reason to knock it down a star.
Actually pretty cheap all-round.. September 24, 2008 Shortall (Vegas) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I know from some of the other reviews that this mouse COULD be kinda 'exciting' compared to an ancient 'ball mouse'.. (Does anyone even have one of those anymore?) But when it comes to our modern 'sensor-mice' of today? This thing is actually pretty so-so. (though for a quick $19 buck fix.. propably ok.) Like some others have stated, I've noticed that the wheel and buttons are none-too precise. TOO 'sensitive' when you wouldn't like them to be.. and alternatively not quite so responsive at other times. The buttons and wheel do routinely 'click/move' themselves which can be a minor annoyance. On top of that.. the whole thing has a bit of a 'cheap flimsy' feel to it.. and the wheel likewise has a very cheap clunky feel to it (I kid not - It's like a wheel on a cereal-box toy) and broke down on mine after a few months. And as someone else mentioned? The BIG RED light on the back (the things 'snazziest feature') is actually pretty annoying come movie time or likewise. (I have to turn it around as well) After having tried out this one Microsoft mouse?.. I'm actually perplexed why so many people think they're so great. Seriously, the mouse that came with my old HP (which I wouldn't have even thought much of at the time) - spun wheels around this piece of junk.. and lasted a HELL OF A LOT longer! Sorry, put the only impression I got from trying this one Microsoft mouse - was never to bother buying another one from them again. 2 stars for an barely-average sensor mouse at a minimal $20 bucks. That's it.
