4 out of 5 stars Great Multimedia Case   July 4, 2007

This case has lots of what you need for a home multimedia rig. The harddrives have a cushion that stops them from making any noise and the look is great.

I have Vista Ultimate installed and the front display works flawlessly.

I would have given it a 5 star except for the lack of additional drive bays. I have it setup with 2 drives doing RAID and if you need more then that you will have to use a NAS.

Great case overall.

the VFD in the front is very slick. It looks great along with other components and you will have to point it out for people to realize it is a computer. it is quiet on its own, though if you are picky you might upgrade the case fans and the PSU. The only sound i hear from this box is my WD Raptor RAID0 but this case even does a good job of quieting them.

the layout inside the case is very organized and allows for good cable routing. highly recommended

5 out of 5 stars Stylish, beautiful, quiet, and cool!   March 6, 2007

I recently put together a custom home theater PC and did a TON of research trying to decide on a case and the Antec was the final winner. I certainly don't regret the decision because this is a fantastic case.

Pros:
- The 3 chamber design was very easy to work in and provides excellent air flow. The two built-in side fans are super quiet as they should be and they keep things cool at the lowest speed. I have not had a reason to turn them to the higher speeds.
- The case is made to accomodate a Micro-ATX motherboard and I had no problem installing the MoBo. In fact, my entire installation (MoBo, CPU, video card, audio card, DVD burner) took less than an hour and this baby was running without problems on first boot!
- This is a stylish and gorgeous case. Everyone who has seen it immediately thinks it's a receiver. Even after I tell them it's a PC, they don't believe it. The VFD further adds to the receiver feel and integrates perfectly with XP Media Center. If you're playing a song in Media Center, it will display the song name, etc. The same goes for videos, photos, etc.
- It includes a power supply! Although it's not a huge power supply, I haven't had any trouble running all the components using the built-in power supply. With a Micro-ATX motherboard, you're gonna be pretty limited on the number of components anyway, so there is no need for a huge power supply.
- Shock resistant hard drive mounting grommets. I haven't seen these in any other motherboard (doesn't mean they don't exist, I just haven't seen them!), but what an excellent idea! The hard drive mounting screws come with silicon grommets which significantly dampen vibration. I installed 2 500 GB Samsung Spinpoint hard drives and they are quiet as a whisper.
- Excellent design overall. This is a very well thought out case. The front panel is minimal with everything you need and nothing you don't. There are two front USB ports and a firewire port, all of which were easily connected to the motherboard.
- Although you can't install a full size motherboard, the Micro ATX form factor allows you to install a full-size video card and a full size audio card, so you really get the best of both worlds.

Cons:
- I honestly can't think of any cons for this case. It would've been nice to be able to install a full-size motherboard, but then you'd need a bigger power supply and the case size would be much bigger and not ideal as an HTPC.

5 out of 5 stars Nice quiet case   January 10, 2007

I bought this case along with ABIT IL-90MV motherboard to build a HTPC with Microsoft MCE 2005. Had no problem with the driver/software that came with case for the VFD. It just worked.

After I figured out how to mount the hard drive correctly with the silicone grommets, I love the way they reduce the hard drive vibration.

This is by far the most quiet case I have ever had. Most of the time I can't even tell if it is on.

Pro: Very very quiet. Lots of room to work with.

Con: Only 1 extern bay available. After I installed the DVD drive I cannot install a flash media reader. VFD took the other slot.
