5 out of 5 stars Better value, lower price, more storage than a storage case.   January 1, 2009

Thermaltake Armor VA8003BWS ATX Full Tower PC Case with 25-Centimeter Fan (Black)Why buy a storage case, when you can buy this great chassis with so much space for tons (weight to start is 45lbs.) of hard and optical drives, so expandable and upgradeable for future uses, plus it looks very futuristic with its blue LED fan lights. Get a lighted PSU for more colored internal lighting. It can hold many HDDs. I have already started with two identical Hitachi 750GB SATAs. You can also get it in aluminum for less weight. Just remember as you add more HDDs the weight will increase exponentially. Also, mine is networked by a high speed ethernet/wireless router/modem to two other PCs plus a laptop.

1 out of 5 stars Don't believe the "BTX compatibility"!   December 6, 2008
Kevin Croxen (Boston, MA USA)
I bought this "BTX compatible" case to use with a BTX motherboard. I also tracked down and bought the BTX optional conversion kit for this case from the one supplier in the US that still carries it.

Only then did I discover that while the earlier-issue VA8003BWS case may in fact have been BTX compatible, this compatibility seems to have been largely removed from the currently-shipping cases. Although the ATX backplate may still be easily replaced with the BTX version, the motherboard mount plate no longer comes with predrilled BTX standoff holes, nor mounting slots for the BTX SRM plate from the conversion kit. The system-builder who foolishly buys this case for his BTX board will find himself compelled to measure and drill his own BTX mounting holes, and devise his own securing mechanism for the SRM plate.

Since the product's box and enclosed manual still trumpet the case as "ATX/BTX", anyone who has purchased this case will only discover the truth when he opens the case and finds that the engraved "Remarks" section on the motherboard mounting plate itself has entries for "ATX" and "Micro ATX", but the line where "BTX" should be is blank, there are no "B" labelled holes, and the plate lacks slots for SRM mounting.

There are few cases nowadays built to handle BTX boards. Unfortunately, the current VA8003BWS is not one of them. Avoid this one unless you feel comfortable exercising your shop skills along with your PC-building skills. And I hope Thermaltake corrects its documentation, its advertising, and its product box to accurately reflect the non-BTX compatible case it currently ships.

5 out of 5 stars Exelent price & quality   June 20, 2008

Ok that how it goes. Case is Capital. no word':). Like people before me mentioned, lots-a-room. U can fit a lot of good (expensive ;) ) stuff in there. It actually took TT a while to fix some gluks in the working of th case. I bought mine in January and it didnt have a side fan. So i had to oder it in. Next thing I did, got 2 front cages, with fan (each holds 1 750G WD caviar HD). As well i have installed 2 rear fans. All along with big side fan, gets awesome results:

* W/O all that: mb T - 45-47 C cpu T - 39-41 C
* Equipped. as is now.: mb T - 36 C cpu T - 28 C. !!!!!

A lot of people mentioned of front wings being superfluous however with front fans installed the air flow cools them off significantly.
Maybe reader wonders why am i so obsessed with air flow, Well its like a start of the whole computer. And well vented computer makes it easier on all the parts, provides good supply of cool air and gets read of the exhaust heat from all your gear. Makes the performance of the fans efficient and useful. This one makes it easy. Even with the look in the future. U can be upgraded 3 years from now. Liquid cooling, no sweat, its got room for that.
If someone builds from scratch Like i did This is my 1st computer ever, no kiddn) here some ideas:
Thats what i got in it wright now:
* ocz mod extr 900W psu (recomended)
* Asus P5N32-e sli MB (recomended 1333 fsb, qcore ready, dual sli, 8gb ram)
* Intel 2.33 Dual Core E6750, 1333fsb (great processor, ^mnth ago Get quad now.
* 2 x Nvidia Gf 7800 SLI GTX (well now i would wait and get someth diferent.)
* 4 x 2GB 533 Kingston DDR2 (recomended)!!! i would put ddr3
* 2 x Asus drw 2014L1 dvd/cd comb (woks well so far, a lil noisy) at this moment i would get sata.
* 2 x 750GB WD caviar sata HD

Everything works great, fast and furious . BUT THE CASE MAKES IT ALL: A+ THERMALTAKE
I hope it was of any help =)

I have this and it actually comes with a Liquid Cooling System and it really works for me. I'm a LAN gamer and don't care about the extra weight when i have to move it knowing that my parts are safer in this tower

5 out of 5 stars Excellent PC tower.   December 7, 2007

If you are looking to build a sli gaming pc but are worried about case space then you should get this one.This is a super tower pc case,it is very very big and you can put any ATX sli gaming motherboard inside of it,put in a couple of 8800 ultras and still have plenty of room to work with.The hard drive cage is located in the upper back of the case right next to where you would place the Power supply.There are many Optical drive bays in the front of the case so you can pop in your Dvd/Cd drives very easily and there are clips on the side of each bay so there are no need for screws.This case has a fan on the front,back and side of it to keep even the most demanding system nice and cool.The Usb ports are at the top of the case and are covered with a cap that snapps into place,the power and reset buttons are at the top front of the case.This thing also comes with all the screws and motherboard risers you will need.The side of the case opens like a door by pressing two buttons on it and there is also a lock for extra security.Another nice thing about this case is the clear side door panels,you can see the blue led lights glow on the inside and also get a look at all the pc parts doing their job.The only negative thing i can say about this is that it may be too big for some people.It is very heavy and you will not want to carry this thing around with you for long.Very big,very heavy.Need i say more about that?This is a great case.Worth every penny.
