Intel boards and memory issues October 26, 2008 Luis De La Rosa *[UPDATED DEC 11 2008]* PROBLEM RESOLVED !!!! TWO CRUCIAL MEMORIES CT12864AA800 WORK FLAWLESS !!! ALL JUST FINE LIKE BEFORE. NO KINGSTON MEMORY OR OTHER WORKS. So I highly recommend you to buy a crucial CT12864AA800. ___________________________________________________________________ I had been using DQ965GF motherboard for one year, recently I got some memory errors, so I just quit a memory module and everything fine (only one 512 mb module remains). I buy two kingtons modules (1x2GB 1.8V KVR800D2N5/1G 1GB 800MHz DDR2 Non-ECC CL5 DIMM ) and the [mobo doesn't boot up] So, I thought, it wasn't the right memory, and I tried with another memories (brand new ones) and the [mobo doesn't boot up] Only with the original memory (of 2 years ago) boot up (KVR800D2N5/512 512MB 800MHz DDR2 Non-ECC CL5 DIMM ) so I buy some of these, and what happened ? [mobo doesn't boot up] Only with the old memory works, no other even the same exact model !!! After search on the web, I read very rare issues with DQ965GF and memory modules, perhaps updating the bios the problem will be vanished
DQ965GF Upgrade August 26, 2007 Ronald Ribbink (Frisco, TX United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was a necessary purchase to get a Vista/Longhorn base compatible board. I was able to utilize the CPU, SATA drive, and other periferals from my recently purchased D101Ggc. I would have preferred an additional IDE socket for a master PATA drive instead of the FD socket. The only minor problem was that I needed DDR 2 memory for this which called for another Amazon quick purchase and prompt delivery. I still would like for Intel to prescribe to a more customizable Bios setup and System Reboot.
Intel DQ965GF MicroAtx Motherboard July 30, 2007 Leonel O. Corona Moreno (Corpus Christi, TX) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
The Intel DQ965GF MicroAtx Motherboard accepts the new Intel Core 2 Quad processor, so it's the reason why I bought it. The motherboard comes with a CD containing all the drivers for the Intel chipset contained, but I had some difficulty in installing the drivers. I installed my Windows XP, without SP2, but the drivers wouldn't install until SP2 was included, but I couldn't connect to Windows Update because the Ethernet connector is part of the chipset. I had to install an external Ethernet card to connect to the Internet, and once the updates were concluded, the drivers were successfully installed. The chipset includes good sound and video, but if you like more of both, get additional PCI cards. Since I am not a gamer or a video freak, I'm perfectly comfortable with what the motherboard has to offer.
